USING QUANTITATIVE REASONING OUTCOMES IN YOUR CLASS

Performance outcomes need to be shared with students, so that they understand what is being expected of them. Students could even make some outcomes for themselves.

There are many ways outcomes can be introduced.

One way is just put them in the syllabus. "Here is what you will know and be able to do at the end of this class…."
Another way to introduce outcomes is in the explicit interpretation of the FRINQ goals, e.g. as part of your grading rubric for the end of term portfolio.

e.g. "In order to receive an 'A' in this course, your portfolio must include evidence that you can display data with appropriate excel charts to communicate information."
