MAX Light-Rail service: TriMet's MAX Red Line is a great way to get to and from Portland International Airport (PDX). The trip between the airport and downtown takes about 38 minutes and requires an All-Zone fare ($2.30). Trains run about every 15 minutes most of the day. You can purchase tickets from automated ticket machines located in the airport lobby near the baggage claim area as well as on the MAX station platform. We recommend you use Trimet's Trip Planner at www.trimet.org for customized directions (enter "PDX Airport" as the starting address) to your hotel. Also, for $4.75, you can purchase 1-Day Pass which is valid for unlimited rides on buses, MAX and Portland Streetcar until the end of the service day.

Shuttle service: Here are two airport shuttle options that will take you to any address in downtown Fareless Square. (see map at http://www.trimet.org/fares/farelessmap.htm) for $14 per person (one way):

Blue Star has a Shuttle at the airport every 30 minutes from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. so you can catch a Blue Star Shuttle outside of Baggage Claim even if you haven't set up a reservation. Ask someone at the information center where to catch a Blue Star or Green Shuttle. If you plan to arrive later than 7 p.m. you should always call to confirm that you want to be picked up. Pay the driver--and you can pay with Visa, MasterCard, or cash. These shuttles will often stop multiple times downtown to drop off passengers.

Taxi cab transportation: This is the fastest option, but also the most expensive option. Taxis are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the airport. A one-way trip to Portland State will cost $40 and will last approximately 20 - 40 minutes. All cab companies charge approx. $34 to get from the airport to the Portland State campus. There is a $1.00 charge for each extra person and no extra charge for luggage, up to three bags per person.
