Minor in Mathematics for Middle School Teachers. This mathematics minor is intended for those who plan to enter a Graduate Teacher Education Program and be licensed in teaching Middle School Mathematics (grades 5-9). A student must complete a minimum of 35 credits (at least 9 of the upper-division credits must be taken in residence at PSU), to include the following:

Only grades of C-, P, or above count toward satisfying the requirements. No more than three courses with a grade of P may be counted toward these requirements. The prerequisites for the MTH 490's courses are MTH 111-112 and MTH 211-212-213.
*MTH 497 "Teaching and Learning in the Middle School Math Classroom" is included below as it is the top choice for the elective.
