Course Information (Syllabus)

Course Description:

Calculus III will cover topics in infinite sequences and series, approximation methods and their application in differential equations.

Textbook:

· Calculus: Concepts and Contexts (3rd Edition), by James Stewart.

Grading Policy:

There will be two mid-term exams during the fifth and eighth week and a comprehensive final exam. The first midterm and the final exam will be held in class while the second midterm is a take-home exam. Your final grade is computed as follows:

First Midterm: 35%; Second Midterm: 20%; Final exam: 45%.

Homework will be assigned regularly and won't be collected. However, you need to work on the homework problems ASAP. All the exams problems will be developed based on the homework. Discussion between the classmates is highly recommended for all the issues from the homework.

·         The final exam will be held at 12:30 -2:30 pm, Monday December 7, 2009 in SH 239. It will cover all the sections where homework are assigned. You can bring a calculator and an 8.5" X 11" single-side notepaper for the exam. No open textbook and classroom notes are allowed.
