Today is Texas Independence Day. On March 2, 1836, four days before the greatly-outnumbered "Texians" were defeated by Santa Anna's troops at the Alamo, the declaration of independence was signed, forming the Republic of Texas. Two friends of mine, Sallie Ingle and Darcy Kuntz, who recently moved from Seattle to Austin, drove down to join in the day's festivities. Back in Morocco, you're seeing some of the Egyptian sets at Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate. I haven't had time yet to translate all the hieroglyphs above right. If you have RealPlayer installed, check out the clip of the making of Cleopatra. |
