DATA

Since statistics analyzes data, we first need some data. The data window is composed of rows and columns. All data concerning one subject goes in a single column. The book may write the data in rows and columns to save printing space but Excel requires it to go in a single column. For example if you had data of student class sizes, that would be one column. If you had data concerning their shoe size, that would be different column.

EXERCISE: For this exercise we will have a sample of student class size. Click in the spreadsheet window and in the cell A1 type the label "students". Then enter any ten numbers into the first ten cells below the label.
