Enter Data in a single column.

Click in the "session" window and if you don't see the minitab prompt, MTB> , then enable the command editor.


To count the data values, use the "tally" command, followed by the column name.
End the command with a semi-colon; and then the "enter" key.

To store the data counts in the worksheet, use the "store" command followed by the two column names to store the calculation.
End the command with a period . to complete the calculations and commands.
The histogram feature of minitab works with numeric data types, not alpha-numeric data types.
Use a "Bar Chart" to graph the frequency of alpha-numeric data.

Select "values from a table".

The count column is the "graph variable" and the label column is the "categorical variable".

You can change axes scales and graph options and then choose "OK".
